Why cook with hemp seed oil
Hemp oil has a lovely taste to it. Like the better known olive oil, it has a flavour but not an overpowering one. Hemp oil has a kind of nutty flavour, adding an earthy greatness to your dishes.
The oil from hemp is so good for your health, you owe it to yourself to start adding it to your life, not least in your cooking, and here’s why:
Hemp oil contains sitosterol, a natural cholesterol reducer.
Hemp oil is rich is the essential fatty acids, these reduce issues in your skin like acne, eczema and psoriasis.
Hemp oil has Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9 in abundance, all of which help reduce cholesterol.
How to cook with hemp seed oil
We say ‘cook’, but we’re using that term loosely, as hemp oil doesn’t’ lend itself to being heated. When you bring hemp oil to a high temperature, you get a lot of smoke, the nutrients heavily reduce in the oil and the sweet, nutty taste changes. You can warm it a little, but only to a luke warm temperature.
But with so many other ways to incorporate hemp oil into your cooking, we can live with not being able to heat it up.
Add the delicious hemp seed oil to:
Drizzled over pasta dishes
Warm soups (added after heating)
…and so much more.
