Hemp Essential Oil is taken from the upper leaves and flowers of the Hemp plant and is extracted by low-pressure steam distillation. It is a truly holistic oil that works on both a physical and emotional level and offers a wide range of health enhancing benefits. It teems with the plant's beneficial Terpenes. Hundreds of them. Terpenes are the compounds of the cannabis plant that protect it from predators and fungi. These compounds are distilled into the Hemp essence to provide a range of health benefits including anti-depressant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. You might have previously come a terpene in citrus fragranced products called Limonene for example.

It cannot be used as a drug because it produces virtually no THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, the psychoactive compound in Hemp essential oil contains less than 10ppm D9THC and conforms to all UK and EU regulations) so you'd have to smoke a joint the size of a telegraph pole to get high!

Hemp CBD oil is a much newer product and is a food supplement with high concentrations of the compound called Cannabidiol, or CBD.

Well, you could put CBD oil in a diffuser, but it's not going to be very effective. To really enjoy the benefits of CBD you should ingest or take it sublingually. Adding CBD oil to your aromatherapy diffuser will not have the same effects as taking it through the methods recommended in our CBD guide. Put hemp essential oil in your diffuser instead, as this is designed specifically for aromatherapy and optimal deliverability of the soothing benefits of the hemp plant and all of its terpenes.
